(2) riley says "go after the employers, they're the ones enticing people to come here"
(3) FPL says he's in favor of that, and has always been, and used to be a Dem before they supported immigrants
(4) riley asks "then why support the GOP? they exploit cheap labor, and have been for decades"
(5) FPL says that he supports the GOP precisely because the chamber of commerce wing is losing influence
(6) riley repeats "but they're not doing anything. you're a hypocrite"
(7) FPL says he wants them to do more, and for chamber GOPers to be voted out, and they're moving in that direction
(8) Thread devolves into some strawman (like that there were no aliens in the past)



Waste of time. By the way, we can remove other incentives too, like welfare for immigrants, birthright citizenship, chain migration, etc.

Hiring illegals for cheap labor is actually good for the economy

That's why it isn't stopped. No administration really wants to stop it, they just appease the masses with talks of laws and walls. Riley is right, if they wanted to stop it they would crack down on employers.

No it isn't. Children should not be kept in those conditions. There is the Universal Declaration of Human rights article 5 in particular. Article 5. - No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.

I will say that it is unfortunate that these people feel forced to leave their own country and enter another with the hope for a better life.

However, they are breaking the laws of the country they enter by being an illegal citizen. Is that fair for those who mean well and are trying to make a life for themselves and their children? No. It's not.

But, you can not have an open border policy where anyone can just cross over unchecked. That's an easy way to allow terrorists through our southern border.

It's not a black and white situation and I understand why this has become a big talking point amongst the politicians and citizens alike, but we have to keep the safety of our citizens as a priority. America has to come first.

Assuming there's ways to just cross over from Canada to here undetected than I'd propose better border security.
