One thing that stands out to me - despite the borderline inhumane conditions they're treating these kids in cages - is the fact they've been there all this time and their families don't seem to be making any effort to retrieve them. And this goes both ways - what is the US doing to help facilitate retrieving them, if anything at all? And what are the parents or family members doing to go get them and expedite this process? Where did the family members go after their child was ripped away from them?

I will say that it is unfortunate that these people feel forced to leave their own country and enter another with the hope for a better life.

However, they are breaking the laws of the country they enter by being an illegal citizen. Is that fair for those who mean well and are trying to make a life for themselves and their children? No. It's not.

But, you can not have an open border policy where anyone can just cross over unchecked. That's an easy way to allow terrorists through our southern border.
