Just add up all the video games, spin-off titles and merchandise/toys they’ve produced and sold over the last 20+ years and it’s not surprising they dominate the retail category. That's some staying power for something people thought would fizzle out in the early 2000s. Will soar even higher when the Switch titles come out.

Pokémon is an utter powerhouse, and is really only just getting started. Nintendo is finally unleashing the power of Pokémon on the home console, which is virtually untapped. The series lends itself far better to home console gaming and it will become more popular than ever before.
