July 1 is when he can officially start talking to teams. Its doubtful he would make his decision on the 1st day. Probably by the 5th

He's going to draw it out for as long as possible.
More attention = more business, better branding.

Yup, I can definitely see this. I believe he announced he was heading back to Cleveland on July 11 in 2014AbeVigodaLive wrote:Buckets wrote:July 1 is when he can officially start talking to teams. Its doubtful he would make his decision on the 1st day. Probably by the 5th

Especially since he has the entire NBA under his thumb.
Will teams wait and wait and wait... or move on to Plan B once they believe they're out of the running?
Personally, I think everybody waits. And then it becomes a mad rush once he finally makes his decision. More importantly, I think James knows this and will play it up even more. He's largely running the NBA right now, as far as marketing and branding go.

This is the type of crap I can't stand with Lebron, even if I understand it.
It's whatever though.

Setting a date makes it an EVENT.

Gonna be funny seeing fatty Brian Windhorst miss the scoop again, despite stalking him since he was in high school.
