Does that happen in any field besides sporting events?

This is an awful strawman, even for you.
Yes, it does. Not a strawman.
In what professional field besides sporting events are employees required to attend a singing of the national anthem before starting their work day?

Silly question... Once upon a time not long ago LB Bryan Cox (with the Dolphins) gave the fans in Buffalo the finger when coming off the field after a game. The NFL was going to discipline him and with this impending discipline Cox countered that as an employee he would pursue a claim that he was forced to work in a hostile work environment as the Bills fans were directing racial epithets at him.

Do you think that Bryan Cox had a legitimate argument? Do fans have a right to abuse players (employees) especially with racist language?

I know that most of the Anger General racist posters wish that they were living back in the days of Jackie Robinson so that they could go to the ballpark to openly say the things that they post here in this forum.

What? NOBODY here uses racial terms or language. Ever.

Just ask them... they'll tell you so. In fact, they'll probably claim you're the real racist while doing so.

To be fair, I think you're a racist for pointing out racist language. Or something like that.

They should play the Carl Lewis version of the anthem at every sporting even.

Which workplace allows you to openly protest while on the clock? Why should the NFL be any different? They're a business....and players kneeling during the Anthem was becoming bad for business. So that business had to get its employees in line for the betterment of the business.

This really isn't that hard to understand.

There are MANY outlets for these high profile people to make political statements. "On the clock" shouldn't be one of them.
What workplace forces you to listen to the National Anthem before you start work? :stephena:

Wait. Is the NFL forcing the players to listen to it?

Doesn't this new option let them sit it out back in the locker room? It's not like they're forcing these guys' ears open and shoveling the Sounds of Blackness crooning the anthem into them.

I have a meeting I have to attend every morning at 9:15. It’s required. If I go there and protest abortion every day....they’re going to tell me to pack my shit.
Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are dumber than that.

This new option is just theory to this point. It has not been ratified I don't believe

Do they play the National Anthem and force you to sit through it? Would you protest that you had to listen to Polka music if that is what they played every morning to get you "pumped up" :skip:
