By the way...Payton was shooting 37% from 3 and led all guards in % within 10 feet but was 3rd worst on defense in the nba

2018:
Payton as starter: 12 - 32
Augustin as starter: 6 - 2
2017:
Payton as starter: 18 - 40
Augustin as starter: 10 - 10
When a career backup who 7 other teams showed the door to is performing better than your starter then you might have issues. But hey congrats on finding your future in this 30 year old who has averaged 23 minutes per game for his career. I'm sure he's just finding his stride and will only get better.
Not to mention you got to clear up cap space by getting rid of that pesky expiring contract so it's really a win-win.
