Really that team was awesome with Ramsey, Conley, KC and Sam Jones off the bench. Russell beat Wilt in the ECF and Pettit in the finals.

124.5ppg, 27 back to back games, 6 guys in double figures, 27-4 by Christmas, and at the time the most wins by any team in league history. And contrary to the narrative only one guy made all league first team (Cousy)

I believe they were the best rebounding team of all time and the highest scoring in Russell's years there.Havlicekstealsit wrote:elmouse03 wrote:Homer alert.Havlicekstealsit wrote:'60 Celtics

I'm leaning hard towards the 1965 Celtics.
1. 62 wins was the most in the NBA history at that time.
2. Bill Russell was all NBA first team and League MVP.
3. They were 1st in pace, 1st in defense, and 1st in points per game allowed. The combination of the three is very uncommon.

No, but that's not what the project is based on. You have to keep in mind to view each team and its accomplishments within their prospective era because the eras cannot be accurately cross compared.Max. wrote:So you think that team would beat the Warriors?y2ktors wrote:I'm leaning hard towards the 1965 Celtics.

Max has a good point though, if you clearly think one team could beat the other then that factors in.
Re: 2017 AG Greatest NBA Teams of All-Time #9
If it were two teams from the same era, then it would definitely be reasonable. Comparing teams that are some 40 years apart on that basis it's going to yield very inaccurate results because the game is so different now.Odogg wrote:Max has a good point though, if you clearly think one team could beat the other then that factors in.

Re: 2017 AG Greatest NBA Teams of All-Time #9
so the 2001 lakers that went 15-1 with prime shaq and prime kobe both averaging 30 a game isn't even listed in the plausible teams to vote for. nor did it make the top 5
ok
