67 sixers
Shows you how dominate Wilts teams could be if he focused on winning with his 2 title teams winning 68 and 69 games.

'67 Sixers. Wilt putting up 24-24-8, Hal Greer, Billy Cunningham, Chet Walker. Started out 45-4. And Dr. Jack Ramsay as their GM. Just legends all around, interrupting the Celts' dynasty.
Re: 2017 AG Greatest NBA Teams of All-Time #8
Dispatched them in 5 games at that with 3 of those being double digit victories. Game 5 was a massacre.Havlicekstealsit wrote:'67 Sixers. While I appreciate the inclusion of the 85 Lakers, I still would prefer to see the 01 Lakers in there.

Re 89 Pistons, we were cheated out of an epic finals once B Scott, who was having his best season, and most importantly Magic after game 1, missed the series with major hammies.
Fucking Riley and his multiple scrimmages between series. This is why P-Jax was the greater coach, he knew how to pace teams in repeat years.

I didn't know that about Riley but that's fair.Odogg wrote:Re 89 Pistons, we were cheated out of an epic finals once B Scott, who was having his best season, and most importantly Magic after game 1, missed the series with major hammies.

Riley is the better GM though
Re: 2017 AG Greatest NBA Teams of All-Time #8
To be fair, every GM in history besides Isaiah Thomas was better than Phil.
Re: 2017 AG Greatest NBA Teams of All-Time #8
Of course, to be fair the other way, Riley's drive/promise pushed them to repeat in 88.

A very underrated team that I feel deserves a nomination soon is that 2013-14 Spurs team that went on a vengeance tour, dismantling the defending champion Heat with relative ease.
Some of the best team basketball I have had the pleasure of witnessing.

They were great in the finals, but dropped quite a few games during the conference playoffs. Had a very average playoff record at 16-7. Curious to see what Infidel would say, or if he would go with the 99 team that blizzed the playoff field.PhutureDynasty wrote:A very underrated team that I feel deserves a nomination soon is that 2013-14 Spurs team that went on a vengeance tour, dismantling the defending champion Heat with relative ease.

That 1999 Spurs team went on to torch the league once it finally came together for them.Odogg wrote:They were great in the finals, but dropped quite a few games during the conference playoffs. The 14 squad might have had the most dominant finals performance ever doe.y2ktors wrote:That 1999 Spurs team went on to torch the league once it finally came together for them.Odogg wrote:They were great in the finals, but dropped quite a few games during the conference playoffs. I've always believed that the 1989 finals doesn't go past 5 games in Detroit's favor. That 1989 Bad Boys team was just too deep and too physical for the Lakers.Odogg wrote:Re 89 Pistons, we were cheated out of an epic finals once B Scott, who was having his best season, and most importantly Magic after game 1, missed the series with major hammies.

Pistons would have been favored sure, but would have been nice to see it play out.
Re: 2017 AG Greatest NBA Teams of All-Time #8
I think it would have gone six (Lakers take 2/3 at home).
