Anyone here play Spades?
I've been playing some lately, and I forgot how much I enjoyed this game.
We need to get a game together from the board.

Played a lot in the Army, but not so much since. I loved that game though.
You play Joker, Joker, Deuce, Ace or no? (I always thought that was the natural hierarchy until I played with civilians, who acted like I was preaching voodoo or something.)

Re: Anyone here play Spades?
We always pulled the 2 of hearts and of diamonds and left the jokers in. Big joker, little joker, 2 of spades, then ace of spades and on down; that was how we played.AlaskaHawks wrote:I'm not sure.... Sounds like an interesting variation.
I've just simply played 2-A in all suits.

Generally speaking from my experience, the JJ2A method was more prevelant among the blacks I played with.....and whites played without the jokers and allowed you to go nil when you wanted.americaninfidel wrote:Maybe it's an Army thing?rileymartin wrote:We always played the same way...americaninfidel wrote:

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are dumber than that.

I was thinking the same thing. I used to play a lot in university and it was always JJ2A with my black friends.Robceltsfan wrote:Generally speaking from my experience, the JJ2A method was more prevelant among the blacks I played with.....and whites played without the jokers and allowed you to go nil when you wanted.americaninfidel wrote:Maybe it's an Army thing?rileymartin wrote:

We've been throwing dice lately. A game called zilch.

In spades the point is to accumulate tricks....the opposite of hearts (unless shooting the moon).Kingcarl24 wrote:How is spades different from hearts?
