Forrest Fenn's Tresaure

Post by Kingcarl24 »

Was watching an episode of Expedition Unknown last night and the topic was Forrest Fenn's Treasure hunt.

Short version, in old eccentric millionaire living in Sante Fe, NM claims to have hidden a treasure chest full of gold and other jewels. It's worth over $1 million. He has left a poem which he claims will lead hunters right to it. No one has claimed to have found it yet. Here is the poem that supposedly has the clues to follow.

As I have gone alone in there
And with my treasures bold,
I can keep my secret where,
And hint of riches new and old.
Begin it where warm waters halt
And take it in the canyon down,
Not far, but too far to walk.
Put in below the home of Brown.
From there it's no place for the meek,
The end is ever drawing nigh;
There'll be no paddle up your creek,
Just heavy loads and water high.
If you've been wise and found the blaze,
Look quickly down, your quest to cease,
But tarry scant with marvel gaze,
Just take the chest and go in peace.
So why is it that I must go
And leave my trove for all to seek?
The answers I already know,
I've done it tired and now I'm weak.
So hear me all and listen good,
Your effort will be worth the cold.
If you are brave and in the wood
I give you title to the gold.

Additional clues have been given since. It's somewhere in the Rockies. It's above 5000ft elevation. It's not in a mine or near a man made structure. It's not in Idaho or Utah.

What do you guys say? Anyone feel like going on a Goonie-esk treasure hunt? We already know who will be our Chunk and Data.

No clue about any of this, but my first question would be how do we know this guy isn't just a millionaire troll?
Taking a break from the board. Please reference my last post for more details if you are interested.

Sounds like it's in a bear cave to me.

"below the home of Brown"

It's buried in Orlando you dumb fucks.
Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are dumber than that.

One of his other additional hints is that it is NOT in a mining cave.

Bears don't live in mining caves.

A lot of people think the House of Brown refers to brown trout but the fact that it's capitalized sticks out to me.

If I had to put money on it, the treasure is hidden in New Mexico. No way the guy is placing his treasure in a place he can't easily access it without drawing up too much attention.

Somebody check what the coordinates were to Walt's barrels in Breaking Bad. We'll start there.

The dudes that keep going to great lengths to find Shia's flag should put their talents to good use.

It would require them to leave their dark single bedroom apartments. They won't help much.

Did you not read the last couple? They went in one building and across to the other roof.

It was actually pretty legit.
