Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are dumber than that.

TDK is giving all the credit to Brady's oline...dumb.
I am giving Brady full credit, he is the 2nd greatest ever...

I just asked a few people recently who played college football and have followed it for decades. They even said it's Brady hands down.

Didn't read riley's argument, but there are a few UNDISPUTED FACTS about Brady:Robceltsfan wrote:The kiss of death to Riley's argument...

1) He's playing in an era where QB's are more coddled and pampered than LeBron James... and for a NON mobile QB like Brady, it makes ALL the difference in the world knowing that he can hang in the pocket and not have to worry about opposing Defenses literally being able to knock his head off. Montana didn't have that luxary.
2) NE's dominating Offensive Line is absolutely, positively, 100% beyond a shadow of a doubt OVERWHELMING responsible for Brady's longevity, and a HUGE reason why he's been so successful (case in point: They didn't miss a beat when he missing the first 4 games this year AND his replacement QB's played lights-out). Anyone who knows anything about the game knows that as the O/D Lines go, so goes your team / QB.
3) Brady and the Patriots have been caught cheating multiple times.
That said, Montana is the GOAT QB...

Not "all" the credit, dunski... but his OL is a HUGE reason why he's been so good for so long. Anyone who knows ANYTHING about Football will acknowledge the critical importance of the OL to the success of the Offense / QB... especially a NON mobile QB like Brady.rileymartin wrote:Not even close...Robceltsfan wrote:The kiss of death to Riley's argument...

This is not rocket science.

TDK:
When Brady wins, it's overwhelmingly because of his teammates.
When Jordan wins, he did it basically by himself, even though when he was "by himself" he won 0.0000 playoff series, and when his teammates were by themselves they won 55 games and nearly beat the team that nearly won the title.

Damn Patriots are going to win another Super Bowl. How they are only a 3 point favorite is beyond me. Get the Falcons outside of that dome and its a whole different story IMO

The rise of the slot receiver in today's NFL is a direct result of the "defenseless player" rule...Brady wouldn't be quite as effective in the middle of the field if he had to deal with head hunting safeties dropping the bomb on these WR's the same way Montana did...A guy like Wes Welker wouldn't have been so bold...
Re: So a 5th Superbowl would make Tom Brady the undisputed GOAT, right?
Montana also had the best WR of all time while Brady has had 2 years with a good receiver in Moss. Outside of him, he hasn't played with a single HOF caliber receiver. Gronk likely will be a HOF TE someday though.rileymartin wrote:The rise of the slot receiver in today's NFL is a direct result of the "defenseless player" rule...Brady wouldn't be quite as effective in the middle of the field if he had to deal with head hunting safeties dropping the bomb on these WR's the same way Montana did...A guy like Wes Welker wouldn't have been so bold...

If Wes Welker is a HOFer, its because of Brady.
As good as Moss and Welker were, the Pats never won a Superbowl with those guys. The best WR Brady has won a SB with is probably Deion Branch. Lol

Psssst... hey numb nuts... are you really going to compare the impact that one -1- player has in the NBA (where it's 5 on 5) vs. the NFL?Bush4Ever wrote:TDK:

You bring up alcohol when it's obvious you've had far too many already... either that or you're completely clueless (or both).
And again... anyone who knows anything about football will tell you that the games are won in the trenches (ie; the O/D Lines).

It seems normal a team wins despite not having an all time great wide receiver.3effs wrote:If Wes Welker is a HOFer, its because of Brady.

Moss nope
Owens nope
Largent nope
Carter nope
I could go on.
although the two greatest receivers imo won
Hutson and Rice.
But both were on all time great teams.
The game is won at the line if you can have consistent success their than you don't have to put much value at the skill positions.

Don't lump all of us together please.Bush4Ever wrote:Why did everything in existence peak in the 1980s/early 90s according to the geezer crowd?
Basketball, football, music, culture, etc..?
Some of us have enough self awareness to put our "glory days" out of the equation.

The game is largely won on the line. That's true.thedangerouskitchen wrote:
