Am I an asshole for not attending my younger brother's wedding?
He's 3 years younger than me and I don't like him nor his wife.
I never liked him and him and his wife were instrumental in creating rifts between my dad and I ... He's one of those chronic liars that will fck with ur reality... I also have a feeling he defrauded me out of some inheritance from my dad, and just over all he hasn't been a brother to me ever.
So I skipped out on the wedding didn't attend and never even met his wife's family ever don't care... Personally I don't think I'm an asshole but some of you might have differing opinions.

Yeah that wasn't cool. Weddings and funerals you're supposed to suck it up for one day and break bread. But you Afghany's do things your own way.

That's how I feel now, but at the time I couldn't compel myself to go. If you knew half the story maybe you'd feel different about me...LakersNeedShaq wrote:Yeah that wasn't cool. No I'm sure you have your reasons, so I'm not judging. If you really have hatred for the guy and want nothing to do with him, then you shouldn't give not going to his wedding a second thought.

The entire family has been pretty dickish to me growing up and even as an adult they treated me terribly.
I'll never forget how I turned 15 and no one cared that it was my birthday. Can you believe that... 14 birthdays in a row and on my 15th no body said anything to me. I never celebrated my birthday with my family ever again. Fuck em

Not to mention they aired out my rift with my dad to ALL my friends. How they got ahold of their #s I'll never know but I started getting calls from my friends a few years ago complaining that my folks had contacted them and they straight embarrassed me in front of my peers ... I lost so many good friends because of them

Is that the only sibling? When the parents start to go you're gonna have to reconnect with him eventually to iron out all the plans.

You're an asshole no matter what you do....in life.
Re: Am I an asshole for not attending my younger brother's wedding?
Is this supposed to be a sob story to explain why you are such a physco?
But honesty, if you two are on not on good terms and he has indeed been a bastard to you and never extended any type of courtesy to you throughout your life than no you aren't an asshole for not going.

I tried to have dinner a couple weeks ago with him and catch the lakers game and he blew me off with some excuse that he jus fabricatedTitan18 wrote:Is this supposed to be a sob story to explain why you are such a physco?

Last minute "oh the wife reminded me we gotta go to LA for something wedding related, sorry bro"
No attempt to reschedule dinner with me just a phony excuse ... He's never invited me to hang out or have dinner or anything like that I'm always the one extending invites and putting myself out there ...

I don't blame you for not going but maybe down the line you and your brother could fix the relationship.

leoss are you in the middle of one of those Arabic family honor feuds? Like did you refuse to marry the daughter of a sheep herder and your family has ever since disowned you?
