Your (Truthful) Greatest/Most Proud Accomplishments So Far In Life ???

Post by Chooch »

- Finding and marrying my beautiful wife

- Graduating HS/college

- Graduating Basic Combat Training and AIT (Advanced Individual Training) from the US Army

- Having the humble pleasure to serve TWO rotations in Operation Noble Eagle, with zero attacks allowed on our homeland during either mission I participated in I might add.

- Not exactly the same as the others on the list, BUT... Continuing to gain equity and having the added net worth growing day after day.

I think the proudest accomplishment I have is breaking the cycle on a lot of negative things that were previously in my family tree.

The degrees, belts, publications, not-too-shabby of a financial portfolio, etc...are all great, but breaking the cycle(s) has helped me find and nurture a lot of positive and loving relationships. I tend to think when I'm on my deathbed, I'll probably be most proud of that, and the things that directly result from that work.

I had 15 assists in a men's league basketball game one time... without a single TO.

[Note: And to be fair, I'm slightly prone to TOs because of my fairly aggressive style of play. So to accomplish that without playing it safe meant a lot to me. Other than that... probably my years-long streak of being named AG's best or 2nd best poster. It was quite the run.]

Thank you for literally confirming precisely what I expected your response to be, which makes me feel even better about my accomplishments....

So go ahead and add another one as "- Having developed a telepathic and extra sensory ability to foreshadow the outcome of several message board individuals"

Again, thanks for helping me spruce up my list, Arty.

Let me know if you need help coming up with your own, I imagine you're still starting at a blank new post trying to remember if you even attended any sort of high school completion/GED program.

Didn't read...
Graduating HS is the equivalent of signing your name on your SAT...its a no brainer.
But apparently to you its a grand accomplishment

I am envious of your (I think I'm understanding you correctly) having the opp to I guess somewhat repair or at least move past any family issues that could have easily kept you down or help you back.

I have dozens of family issues you could probably relate to if there was somehow a more confidential platform.

But not gonna lie, even though Id on't think I've let any hold me back in the slightest, I also don't feel I've helped repair any in a way maybe I could or I should have tried.

Humorously and again predictably, you somehow were able to simultaneously read none of my post, but also make specific references to points directly in my post that you ignored.

Impressive, I guess.

Buying a house at 24
Selling a house a 30 and pocketing bank
Working on very cool movies that I'm still a fan of.
Meeting several famous artists that I admired
Moving from new Orleans during Mardi gras...a huge accomplishment
Finding my dream girl twice...(2 different women)
Living on my own at 16 years old
Traveling the globe alone on my own dime in my mid 20s
Saving a guys life in 1999 and I just found out I did that like a year ago when the guy finally found me...was surreal...didn't know my words saved his life...
Becoming addicted to running daily and losing all my baby fat and getting cut like an Adonis.
Overcoming my severe back problems
Having all 4 wisdom teeth pulled at the same time
Being the only one with my dad the moment he passed away...he was literally waiting for me so he could let go...
Giving my little sister away at her wedding in my fathers place...
My best mans speech at my brothers wedding
My best mans speech at my buddy Mikes wedding in Napa Valley
Making my way from Penn Station to Williamsburg with luggage in the 2003 blackout
Banging the southern belle on the train to Baltimore on Halloween
Father hood
Becoming a godfather and meaning it
Having my brother admit traits he admires in me that he doesn't possess that my dad and I do...at dads eulogy...
Selling my first painting after college...
Supporting myself for 2 decades with my skills and talent..
Quitting smoking twice
Winning the Best of Ringling Jurors Choice award...very big deal...
Getting and banging a Chick from Finnland while I was in Lucern Switzerland...despite neither of us knowing each others languages.
Landing a dream job right after 9/11 when the nation basically had shut down
Surviving boarding school and not being kicked out for dope distribution...they could never catch me
Surviving 4 direct hit hurricanes within 2 weeks and living and flourishing without power for 3 weeks.
More coming as I remember

I've mentioned this before, but ranking in the top-200 in the world for a stealth challenge map in Batman: Arkham Asylum is up there.

There were over 1,000,000 scores by my last check, and I'm confident that most of the scores ahead of me were via cheating/glitching. I found an okay tutorial on how to clear the room on YouTube and figured out how to optimize it after a lot of trial and error. When I got my best time it felt amazing.

Pretty impressive. Keep up the great work. If you're completely focused... you might even be able to claim quitting smoking a 3rd time is your greatest accomplishment.

Ha.

Being a good son, father and sibling and a good husband for the length of that run. Really, really looking forward to the grandfather gig, although no near term prospects at this point. :D

I don't really include career and financial accomplishments because there is so much luck involved.

I guess the ability to maintain discipline in most aspects of my life.
