there is only darkness and fire in Hades. no friends. no meats. nothing but punishment. He will stay there and await Judgment. Then Hades and everyone in it will be thrown into the lake of fire. The 2nd death.

Does anyone know how he killed himself? I mean was it legit suicide or did he pop a few too many pain killers?

Actually he was a celebrity eater, a status one of our most prolific posters aspire to.

Always seems like the rich and famous ones that get paid to do some BS like travel the world and film it free of charge that are killing themselves.

Never see the ones that got handed a shitty deal in life killing them selves

Yeah...definitely only the rich and famous killing themselves.

We lost almost 45,000 celebrities in the US last year!!!!!

F Anthony Bourdain!

Selfish prick. We ALL have stress.

He left behind an 11 year old daughter. Just left her.

POS!

He seemed like the type who was a real prick off camera, but seemingly had the perfect gig. Wealthy AF, women around the world adored him, made his living doing what he was most passionate about, seemed to have a healthy sense of humor-personality (despite seeming like the asshole type off-air).

I like railing on the emotional incompetence as much as the next guy when it comes to people who commit the ultimate act of selfishness (suicide), but the depth of these people's misery is just something I'll never begin to understand, especially to people who seemingly had it all..

Quite a number of creatives have depression as part of the mix. What brings them great heights, also takes them to great lows. It really has little to do with stress.
Very sad.
Suicide is very selfish, but that’s not what’s on the mind of the person at the time. Parenthood is very selfish as well. I feel for his kid and those that loved him.
It sounds like he might have been dumped by the actress that he left his daughters mom for.
Relationship issues may have led to the handbag designer’s suicide too.
Love stinks!

Sucks. Had the greatest gig in the world there for awhile. I used to joke about how Bourdain pitched his show to Travel channel. I imagine it went something like this...

"So I'm a pretty cool guy and a pretty famous chef. I want you guys to pay me lots of money and fly me around the world so I can hang out with my cool friends and eat and drink pretty delicious stuff. Sound good?"

Shocked.

I saw him as someone who travelled to understand other people around the world from a really genuine and authentic perspective. He didn’t go to Ibiza to party, or show the most glamorous and touristy hot spot on his show. He would spend entire nights in deep conversation with locals of peripheral cities and towns. Soak into the lifestyle and culture of really good people who were living real lives. Seemed to me he was an empath type personality. I know people who are like this and they are always down for conversations about life and willing to listen to problems. However it can get pretty heavy at times, to be able to relate to anyone so well and take on their burdens because at that moment you feel what they feel, you learn what they know, and it can stick with you. He did it so often that it could have accumulated. He knew despite his status that he wasn’t truly better than anyone else that he encountered. Not saying this is why he made the ultimate decision that he did, but people seem confused that someone who lived his life should be ecstatic .. I don’t think he travelled with the same intention and manner that most do.
