Is Curry Having the Best Shooting Season Ever?

I can't think of another better shooting season, outside of his own 2016 season, and even that is arguable.

3s: 41.8 percent (on 10 attempts a game)
2s: 61.3 percent (60.3 percent from 16-23 feet!, 67.3 at the rim)
1s: 91.8 percent (while increasing his free throw rate by about 50 percent from 2017)

Q1. Is his shooting better this season than in 2016?
Q2. Has anyone other than Curry had a season of shooting matching or exceeding Curry 2018 (to-date)?

The guy *still* doesn't get the respect he deserves. In my opinion, it's very arguable that he's the best player in the league at this point, despite playing on a stacked team (IIRC, his TS% actually increases w/out Durant).

Among guards...only Kyle Korver and Tim Legler have had higher TS% marks for an entire season. And both of those are on MUCH smaller samples of shot attempts.

There has never been a high-volume shooter with the stats Curry puts up. Not even remotely close.

Bird's best ever was: 61.2% (28.1 PPG)
Ray Allen: 62.4% (18.2 PPG)
Reggie Miller: 65.0% (22.6 PPG)
Lebron: 64.9% (27.1 PPG)
Jordan: 61.4% (32.5 PPG) both he and Lebron have more at-rim attempts than the others on this list....but they're still wings/guards

Curry over the past FOUR seasons has a TS% of 64.9% averaging 26.5 PPG. This season he's currently at 67.5% averaging 27.7 PPG!!!

Barkley is basically the "old school" gold standard (insofar as I know) for TS% while adding on "star player" amounts of volume.

From 1987 to 1990:

TS%: 66.0, 66.5, 65.3, 66.1
PPG: 23.0, 28.3, 25.8, 25.2

That in mind, Barkley played more minutes (so Curry scored more per possession), but had comparable or better offensive ratings, and played in a slightly (at least with respect to the last two NBA seasons) less efficient era.
