Seriously, do we have to be a mod to get our pet projects stickied?

Australian Open, really?
Save your outrage for something else. You're not old enough to be a curmudgeon.

Pretty much every tennis and golf major has had a stickied thread for the past couple years.

Why is Abe up-in-arms about this one? :noidea:

LMBAO at me being the one upset.

I just made a quip that this thread has been here for a week and had only 32 replies. Gently poking fun at Undies and Grizz.

Then Grizz went apeshit and called ME the old man curmudgeon?

The thread that really should be unstickied is that Magic Bulls prediction thread. The only people who care are Bulls fans and artman.

And Rafa is done, right after Dimitrov. Federer's title to lose now if it wasn't already.

I hope that Rafa is not seriously injured, I've never seen him that angry after a match before and retiring mid match is unusual for him.

He is snake bitten when it comes to the Australian Open. So many unfortunate moments.

Rafa was playing so well up a set and a break. Take nothing away from Cilic but there is no chance that Rafa was going to lose in form.

If Berdych beats Federer it will be the first time in something like 15 years to no top-4 seeds advance to SF.

I didn't see what specifically happened, just saw the trainer tending to him then I fell back asleep.
What's ailing him?

Something happened in the upper leg region, Rafa himself couldn't put a finger on it. MRI tomorrow. Not his hip, knee or groin.

He was on fire in the first set. Easily his highest level of the tournament. It's a real shame, not many more chances to complete the double slam now. You have to wonder whether gunning for the #1 ranking last season and then foolishly giving it a go in the ATP Finals contributed to this as Rafa still wasn't ready to prepare for this season properly. He has never won a major cold and without a lead-in tournament.

Thanks for the update.

I was really hoping for a Fed/Nadal Finals.

I think we all were. This is another disappointing slam in a string of many in terms of epic matchups. And there isn't even a lot of next gen emergence to make it all feel worthwhile, although Chung looks amazing.

TOO EASY for Federer. Didn't look back after he stole the first set. Berdbrain not in the same class, Chung likely doesn't have the serve to make things competitive either.

I set my alarm to catch the end of the Fed match, but it was already over.

Nadal underwent an MRI on Wednesday in Melbourne, which revealed a Grade 1 injury to his iliopsoas -- or inner hip muscles -- near his right leg. He will take some time off from tennis and focus on physiotherapy.

The GOAT being the GOAT again.

He just keeps distancing himself from the several contenders a full level beneath him on the all-time GOAT list.
