You must be quoting the wrong person. I've played organized ball all my life and still do. I said he doesn't shoot from his waist, i never said he didn't start his shot from his waist though. He does start it there but he releases up high where you should.

Yes I know he brings it up from his waist which he needs time to get the shot off but it's not like he's releasing from down there. It's harder to get a shot off no doubt. It's crazy NBA players can have shots like that and regulars on these boards who play ball probably have nicer form then alot of players.

I agree with that it is your release point. You can start wherever the hell you want but it may be tougher to get shots off depending but having a nice release point is more important.
