however .. lebron james DOES have control over his finals record..him having 4 more losses than jordan IS something he can dictate and protect himself against

kareem abdul jabbar is a 2 time finals mvp. and 6 time players association mvp. and hes a legit GOAT candidate. had the players voted for mvp. kobes resume would have been on par with kareems and he would also be in that discussion


we can argue validity and criteria all day. but the fact is it changes to fit whomever the media deems fit to represent their vote

you can make a case for a guy when he doesn't have allot of help
- or when his team has a top record regardless of help
- or when hes just having a great year statistically with a good record
- or even just if his teammates injured


depending on which way you wanna twist it.. kobe could have had a case for mvp in 2003, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2013

you can say "no way. so and so was better in that year" who cares. its all opinion. which is what the award is based on.

and no matter what argument anyone gives. there will always be other selections that go against any specific criteria.

so in the end... all that matters is what michael jordan himself thinks. because hes the man people are trying to catch. if he says 1 guys better. then guess what

The ONLY thing Kareem has on Jordan is a longer career (which by default = more cumulative stats). Jordan is at least marginally better with regards to peak performance, scoring and defense.
