Me too...

He could bring the heat but he also could kill you with finesse.

I don't follow baseball any more as much as I follow basketball but his advanced stats were crazy:

Mathewson and Carlton both have a case.

In a must win situation I would take Bob Gibson over them all.

Hank Aaron stated that Seaver was the toughest pitcher he ever faced. Seaver approached Aaron before his first All-Star Game in 1967 and asked Aaron for his autograph. Seaver felt the need to introduce himself to Aaron, as he was certain "Hammerin' Hank" would not know who he was. Aaron replied to Seaver, "Kid, I know who you are, and before your career is over, I guarantee you everyone in this stadium will, too."

No clue. I think we agreed on the last board that the modern era began when the league was fully integrated. So I suppose that would be in '59:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fi ... rs_by_team" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Though I guess we could use '69 instead:

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/columns/story?id=2471349" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Who would you all have as your top 10 pitchers in either timespan (59-present or 69-present)?

"Blind men come to the park just to hear him (Tom Seaver) pitch."

It was a travesty that Hank Aaron received death threats (from "thugs", some real shizz) because he was about to break Babe Ruth's HR record.

And there is nothing that anyone can say about Hammerin" Hank. Never boasted, showed off, or even did anything in his personal life to deserve that. And you don't even hear about him like great baseball players are talked about. Kinda shows no matter what you do certain people are going to be mad at you because of "differences". smh :roll:

I have mad respect for Hank Aaron but my favorite baseball player of all time is Willie Mays...
