Would you rather die from fire, or fall from skyscraper?
I'm terrified of heights, I'll take the smoke inhalation for $200 Alex.

You would be most likely dead before you hit the ground. I to am afraid of heights. Most likely would not be in the skyscraper to begin with.

What would cause you to die before hitting the ground?
Re: Would you rather die from fire, or fall from skyscraper?
Something quick, rather than something prolonged, please.
No burning or drowning for me.
No burning or drowning for me.
Taking a break from the board. Please reference my last post for more details if you are interested.

I'll take either over a plane crash in ocean, waiting for sharks to pull me under and rip me apart.

Not sure house, I thought I read something years ago. All I know is anyone would be dead on contact.

The actual impact hitting the ground is the least of my worries, I'm sure I wouldn't feel it. It's the 20 second free fall toward my death I have an issue with, the idea I'm moments away from splattering like a watermelon. It's unbearable, I'd rather suffocate.
The anticipation of death, is worse than the actual death IMO.

Could probably pass out or faint from the shock. But it isn't going to kill you. I've heard this was a myth though, and most jumpers are fully conscious in the moments before crashing down onto the pavement.Da Stars. wrote:lettherebehouse wrote:Da Stars. wrote:You would be most likely dead before you hit the ground. You have that with burning or drowning anyway, but with extreme physical distress tacked on.lettherebehouse wrote:Bush4Ever wrote:Something quick, rather than something prolonged, please.

I think I'd choose falling from a skyscraper being as the physical pain would be much shorter

I actually just looked this up. You are correct. It is amazing what you can be told at a young age and think of it as being a fact. I still think I would rather go splat than bet burned alive.lettherebehouse wrote:Could probably pass out or faint from the shock. But it isn't going to kill you. As a firefighter I'd take burning because the wife and kids would get a truckload of cheddar. Also, free falling for that few seconds would be terrible while all you need to do is take one big breath of super heated gasses, fry your lungs and die.

Thanks brotha. Just another job. I hate douschbags that try to make their jobs seem overly heroic or something. Got to admit I pulled the dbag card myself a few times in my younger years to get some ass. I appreciate the kind words though.wailuaFC wrote:You're a firefighter? Yeah you think the way I think. The fumes would kill you before any flame actually touches your body. I have a fear of heights not typical to the common fear most people have. To be free falling out of a building or a plane would be my biggest fear coming true, and too unbearable of a situation to voluntarily put myself in if given a choice.

Haha. I'd shit myself. The other day I was thinking about a scenario, for some reason, where I was walking/partying on top of a skyscraper with no guard rails and slipping off. Shit is terrifying lol.lettherebehouse wrote:paskeezy3000 wrote:As a firefighter I'd take burning because the wife and kids would get a truckload of cheddar. I can fly just fine, if I do not look down. As far as getting me on the top floor of any skyscraper, good luck.
