It is ridiculous how good he is playing right now. I'm a bit hesitant to say it, but he is nearly on a Jordan level of greatness so far this year.

Do you realize he's on pace to make 418 three-pointers this year?

That video is funny as shit. He sees Curry get the pass, and you can almost hear him say in his mind "FUCK IT".

And yeah....Bogut starts running back before Curry even releases the shot. Crazy!

In the Hornets player's defense (no pun intended) he was down low trying to get the rebound, Bogut get its, and then immediately see's a wide open Curry in the corner. Is it worth the effort to try and rush out there where you're still not going to have enough time to get a hand in his face and probably only be able to throw a hand out there 10 feet away from Curry? Given Curry's percentages, its more beneficial to save the energy and work on getting down the court for offense.

Still funny though

Agreed...I'm not saying he did anything wrong. But the look on his face was like "DAMN...".

I think I saw a graphic last season about Curry shooting from that very spot (left side of the 3 point line) and he was like 85%+ from there.

http://www.basketball-reference.com/pla ... ting/2015/

Look at all that green on the left side of the 3-point line. Wild shit...

No reason to hesitate. He's shooting 52%, 46%, 94%. 32 points per game in just 34 minutes per game. Ts% of 70% (MJs best is around 61%. Same with Durant, shaq and Bird).

Curry is playing better than MJ ever did. It's still early in the season, but historically Curry isn't prone to too many long slumps in efficiency or anything.

MJ was a better defender, but Curry is pretty good on D, and far better offensively.
uh oh :scared:

I don't have a twitter but I read some of bruce blitz's twitter reactions to all this
Curry/Jordan and Warriors/Bulls talk and talk about a meltdown.

Ehh. This is all shit to get the 90s bulls fans and Jordan fans riled up. Curry is playing great this year so far but I don't think anybody would take him over Jordan in 87, 88, and/or 89 which were probably his 3 best individual seasons of his career.

Well he's scoring more per minute and more efficiently by every single metric than MJ did those seasons, and he's undefeated. He's already had 6 40 point games, and 3 of them were in 3 quarters.
So you would take this years Steph Curry over anybody.

Did you watch much of late 80s early 90s Jordan? He was unstoppable and it was impossible to get by him when he defended you. He had some pretty amazing 20 game stretches himself.

In the 1989 season, for the entire month of March and into April, he averaged a triple double over a 20 game stretch, 31/10/12 on 51% shooting, and also nearly 3 steals per game.

In '88, he had a 20 game stretch where he averaged 35/6/7/4/2 on 56% shooting and 89% FT shooting.

Curry is also averaging almost 3 steals a game. How many minutes did MJ average in that stretch? Curry would be around 38 ppg in this stretch if he was playing normal minutes.
40 mpg during that stretch. That's what he averaged for that season, too.

He's shooting an even higher fg% than MJs stretch despite shooting around 12 threes a game, many of which go in. More points per shot, more points per minute.

Also, I'm saying is take Curry assuming these will be his season numbers, not just a stretch.
Yeah, we'll have to wait and see how the season ends up, I mean who knows. Knock on wood, but he could have an injury.

Hate to sound like this but what about the rules from Jordan's years to Curry's year?

Exactly. My point was Curry is scoring even more on 6 fewer minutes and on fewer shots.
What Curry's doing right now should be considered legendary for many years to come.

Still 62 games left in the season so a lot can still happen but if he keeps it up for the entire season it will be up there with some of the greatest of all time.

Jordan had a shorter 3 point line I think. No double teams too?

The main thing that would affect Curry would be the handchecking rules. I mean, if you watch 80s basketball, you'll see PG's with their backs to the basket outside the 3 point line. You never see that nowadays. But, the pace was a bit faster back then, with about 5-10 more possessions for each team per game.

Well in the West in the 80s it was faster. In the East in the 80s the only team that really ran were the Hawks with Nique. Everybody else pretty much played grind it out half court basketball. Bulls had a team that could have been a up tempo team from 84-88 but they just didn't play that way.

Jordan had a shorter 3 point line only for 3 season, from 1995-1997. That doesn't even matter that much though, because Jordan's game did not involve the 3 pointer that much at all. And you could double team back then, just no zone defense. But also, there was no defensive 3 seconds. Jordan would destroy teams today without 7 footers dominating the lane constantly on defense the way they did back then.

No amount of hand checking is going to stop Curry from jacking 27 foot 3-pointers.
