They are enemies at first, so they will fight and fight. By the end of the movie they will realize there is a greater evil around and need to join forces to defeat it. Then it will give you 5 other movies that will be basically the same thing.

Snyder claims his story isn't based off TDKR and that it is a completely original story that he cooked up, with some visuals inspired by TDKR for the sake of paying homage to Frank Miller.

Whether or not that is true remains to be seen, but the Superman definitely seems similar, I agree.

Interesting that he isn't claiming it to at be a large inspiration for the movie. That's some straight plagiarism right there if he doesn't given TDKR it's nod.

- Superman seems like a pawn for some organization, probably the government

- He's fighting against Batman

- Batman has the shrine/memorial to Robin in his cave

- Batman likely found Kryptonite as rumored by the one weapon in the trailer

- The suit he's wearing when he tells Superman he will bleed is just a smaller version of the one from TDKR

- Probably forgetting a ton more

Maybe he considers that a homage but I'd say that's more than just that.

I happen to agree with all of what you're saying, but at Comicon Snyder was asked point blank if the story was based on TDKR and he said no, that he and Chris Terrio wrote the (new) story together.

Time will tell I suppose.

Frankly I wish it was as close to a TDKR adaption as possible. I have a lot more faith in that story translating to the big screen than I do in Snyder's storytelling abilities.

There is a reason why the book and animated adaptation are so popular.

Snyder would be better following that blueprint than his own.
