Is Cam Newton the favorite to win MVP atm?

Post by elmerjfudd »

Team is 11-0

Great production with below average targets to throw to, has a running back averaging less than 4 ypc... lost his number 1 target at the beginning of the season.

At this point it probably comes down to which guys team has the better record at seasons' end.
Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are dumber than that.

Brady deserves it but I think Cam gets it to change things up.

So Cam gets the Derrick Rose MVP?
That's actually a very good comparison. Yes.

Could also be called the "Karl Malone" MVP or the "Charles Barkley" MVP.

Brady has looked quite vulnerable since Edelman got hurt.

His numbers are still way better than Cam's.

Overall his numbers are better, but should it be strictly by the numbers considering what Cam has to work with compared to Tom. I guess we will see what Tom does the last couple weeks though, especially seeing he's turned the ball over 3 times and threw 2 TD since losing Edelman.

Yeah, Cam having by far the best defense in the NFL hasn't had anything to do with them winning all of their games so far.

How do you measure defense? By how many ppg they give up or total defense?

Well not to burst your bubble but the Patriots have the best defense in the league giving up 18.2ppg. Panthers are 5th at 18.6. Patriots have the 2nd ranked offense in the league at 32.3. Panthers are 3rd at 30.2.

Sure its helps him win games but I was clearly talking about his statistics. It would be nearly impossible to ask him to be 11-0 with an average defense and having Jericho Chotchery, Ted Ginn as your wide receivers and a running back who's giving you under 3.9 ypc. Even then with a top 3 or 5 defense its no one could see this coming unless your getting 27 TDs out of your and 3000 yards from your starting QB after 11 games with those same receiving options.
