Isn't it utterly fascinating what Jordan accomplished...
In just 13 seasons in the damn game (Less if you count his Washington Days).
The guy literally accomplished more overall in that amount of time then damn near most of all the top players as a collective unit have done the past 10-15 years.
The guy did more in 13 seasons overall than Lebron/Kobe have done in a collective 28 seasons? Thats fucking nuts..
IT would literally take these guys 3,4,5 seasons to duplicate what Jordan did overall in ONE.

Yup, it sure is utterly fascinating.
When you sit back and look at what MJ accomplished, and the legacy he left behind after just 13 full seasons (11 really)...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ca ... ael_Jordan" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
...you can begin to understand why he retired (out of boredom) after the 93 season, when many in the NBA circles were already calling him the GOAT.
WoW... !!

What makes his LEGEND even bigger is, once he got decent enough teammates to reach the top and win his first Championship. NO ONE EVER Knocked him off of it!!! Since his first title in 91', every full year he played, he won the Championship!!!
How many go out like that!!??? Winning 6 Titles in your last 6 years complete years!!???
GOAT!!

The washington days were awesome too.
Wait til some of you hit 40, it's not as easy as it looks. Take a few years off and come back like that. Who else has ever done it?

Jordan was just so DOMINATE that he made it seem that way.
No one has Dominated EVERY facet of the game in the Modern Era like him.
GOAT List:

2. Kareem

It's cliche and its bullshit and agenda based. Not only did he take a few years off, he returned at the age of 38/39 and was one of only 5 guys that year to drop 20/5/5 on the season... then, the following year he went on to SHATTER all-time Scoring records for 39/40 year old players.Wishbone wrote:The washington days were awesome too.

The modern day Babe Ruth of Basketball... there is Michael Jordan, and then there's everyone else (as Magic once said).

Re: Isn't it utterly fascinating what Jordan accomplished...
I do believe Lebron CAN make a run at Jordan's legacy. I don't think he will make it, but it is not crazy talk anymore to think it is possible. Or that he can at least approach the throne, so to speak.
The interesting action will be when Lebron is 32-34 or so. If Lebron can do elite-level work at the range, watch out. Things will get interesting.

Taking a break from the board. Please reference my last post for more details if you are interested.

In a 15 year stretch, Bill Russell won 2 NCAA titles, 11 NBA titles and captained a Gold medal Olympic team. Not bad.

Both Russell AND Jordan won Olympic Gold medals playing alongside tomato cans like Jon Koncack and Burdette Haldorson. LOL @ LeBronze failing to win gold OR silver with superstar NBA teammates.vcsgrizzfan wrote:In a 15 year stretch, Bill Russell won 2 NCAA titles, 11 NBA titles and captained a Gold medal Olympic team. It's weak cuz Lebron & Kobe get compared to some guy who played in it.y2ktors wrote:I've yet to hear or see an explanation for why the 90s were weak.
