It seems like this debate is quite tired.

But in a new way: In a game that has become more about position-less players... people still shoehorn PGs on these all-time lists even if they're way below other viable options. For example, run with Garnett or Nowitzki instead of Iverson on the 2000s team. Bryant and James can easily run the show.

Or, you could simply swap Iverson for Nash and I'd be happy too.

I agree on Iverson.....not the others.
Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are dumber than that.

Gilbert Arenas posted on this saying he would put LeBron at the point on his 00s team since he plays mostly point-forward, and Kobe at SF since they play the 3 position in the triangle offense, which would then add Tmac to the SG spot

Meh, if I'm running Bron at the point, I'm keeping Kobe at SG and bringing up Durant to the SF. Bron might average 20 APG.

That's a lot of guys who need the ball to be effective.

Garnett adds better defense, more versatility and is much cooler passing the ball, doing dirty work.

With that said, who would be your 00s team of 5 players if positions didn't matter?

I think it would be fun watching a prime Duncan play a prime Malone.

Howard over Shaq? Is this due to pace of play with Kobe, Lebron, and Durant?

Personally, I would pick Pippin over Barkley...and Kidd over AI.

This is due to better rebounding and defense from Howard on a squad where an offensively inclined center really isn't necessary.

Howard/Duncan on the defensive end is much more intimidating than Duncan/Shaq.

It was just something to throw out there. Shaq's 30 per night really isn't needed on a team featuring 3 of the greatest scorers of all-time.
