2015 Anger General Greatest post-merger Players of All Time #1

Here are the rules and guidelines:

1. The post-merger era is 1976-77 to the present day. Only accomplishments and statistics from 1976-77 to the present day will be taken into consideration.

2. Vote for your #1 player of all time posting the said player's name from the list of candidates available during that particular round. ONLY ONE VOTE per poster per round.

2. Players will be chosen for a spot whenever they appear to have the majority of the votes. After 2 days, if there is not a clear cut majority winner we will declare the leader at that time as the winner.

Each thread will be stickied to the general board until the given round is over. After round 1 is complete, nominations for reasonable candidates for the proceeding round will be open. Only ONE nomination per poster.

Of those three, MJ. Kareem is losing seven prime years, so while you still get 4 very high quality, even MVP seasons, the longevity isn't enough to push him over the top. If I am misunderstanding and Kareem's pre-merger seasons do count though, I will abstain from a vote (but would still like to nominate for the next vote).

I omitted Bird for the first round due to the reasoning that these 3 players are more synonymous with being in consideration for GOAT.

While Bird is usually synonymous with Magic and vice versa and Bird isn't in that conversation As GOAT on the level that Magic is.

What about defense and other statistics? It's not even about just 5 rings.

And you also can't compare Gs and Fs to Cs because the Center position only has 1 spot per team while the other 2 positions have two.
