Knicks absolutely killed it in free agency..
Blowing away the Lakers as they get a big prize in Affalo. Can't keep the Knicks down for long as all the FAs bust their humps trying to play alongside the great Melo.

They still have a chance to land Lin though, right?

They got great value for that Afflalo contract but that's pretty much it.
They're preparing to throw a max at Enes Kanter and see if OKC matches.

The less moves we make for now, the better. We have our core, and plan on rebuilding the old school way, through our draft picks and developmental level scouting, and maybe 1 big splash in the upcoming FA season or trade. We can't be getting albatrossed into bad contracts like what we'd have had Dwight, LeMarcus, or Monroe signed to max or near max level deals. LeMarcus, Monroe, Brook Lopez, Chandler lol. I mean really, who's that desperate to throw all their eggs into a basket for this chump of a class?
Management played both sides of the coin brilliantly. They were purposely inept enough to not get either of these guys signed to max deals, while simultaneously pacifying the rabidly hungry Laker fanbase desperate to see the Lakers make a move, any move in a panic to get us out of the cellar. They've had to delude us into thinking they weren't twittling their thumbs as the FA period opened, because we don't know any better for the most part. Mitch and the Buss fam know this, and they played it absolutely brilliantly, most likely with Kobe spearheading the entire charade.
Brilliant! Bloody brilliant!

But even the Affalo deal has an opt out after the first year so if he performs next year, there really isn't much value.zombiesonics wrote:They got great value for that Afflalo contract but that's pretty much it.

There aren't many knicks fans on this board, or at least they're not very vocal, so I'm curious why there's so much loling at the Knicks on this board when no one is talking about how great they are. This is usually reserved for the teams that have very vocal "fans" on this board. I'm just curious what the motivation is.
Disclaimer: I am a Knicks and and I know how shitty they are and will continue to be as long as Dolan owns the team.

It might've been more of a backhanded slap at Laker fans, trojan horsed in on a lol @ the knicks package.

I'm making fun of them obviously. I actually have tremendous respect for Phil Jackson and I feel badly that things aren't going a little more smoothly for him over there. I don't have much time for Melo especially after he chose money over wins and it's as much about making fun of him as anything else. Lastly, like the Lakers, I'm making a little bit of fun of the huge markets of LA and NY wallowing in the dark.steveo wrote:There aren't many knicks fans on this board, or at least they're not very vocal, so I'm curious why there's so much loling at the Knicks on this board when no one is talking about how great they are. Not really. I just needing something to compare the Knicks to, and they are the two biggest markets in the league and they both had huge amounts of cap space and big hopes.lettherebehouse wrote:steveo wrote:There aren't many knicks fans on this board, or at least they're not very vocal, so I'm curious why there's so much loling at the Knicks on this board when no one is talking about how great they are.
