I watched it. Intriguing.
I have not seen the first season.
The scene with Farrell and his kid was intense.
I'm kinda against any show that makes Rachel McAdams look bad.

I thought the first episode was good. It suffered by being compared to the first season.
If you haven't seen the first season, watch it. It's incredible, maybe the best TV show ever.

i dont know about all that, but it was good. I wouldn't put it in my top 5 though.
Different strokes and all, but what would you put above it? The only thing I have in the same ballpark is Breaking Bad.

Breaking Bad, The Wire, Mad Men, Walking Dead, Game of Thrones off the top of my head. Granted Walking Dead is mindless, dumb entertainment, but its fun.
I agree with your assessment of Walking Dead, but I also enjoy it immensely. Mad Men is very good, but nowhere near the level of True Detective's first season. Never watched The Wire (though I might) or Game of Thrones (likely never will.)

The Wire is just amazing. So realistic, its almost a documentary. The issues it deals with are real and relevant and handled with a maturity that no other show does. Its written by a long time baltimore journalist who knows his shit, and everything in the show is likely somewhat based on true events. Highly recommended. The show will age well for years because its not gimmicky.
Is it still on, or is it done? If the latter, do you know if it's on Netflix?

The Wire is a show that makes a lot of sense in the end, every season ties together. Like all the little pieces fit together, it's story telling done in a different way. I was confused at first but then watching more of it, it really is brilliant.
You know what the worst thing about the end of the day is? Tomorrow, it starts all over again.

It ran from 2002-2008. It was never super popular while it was on. HBO pushed sopranos more. But it's gained in popularity since then. It's not on Netflix right now though.
Seems like it might be available on Amazon Prime. I'll check it out.

I will if it's on Netflix or something.
Free HBO goes off on the 1st, so I doubt I'll see anymore of season 2.
