I go to another board and there's a poster named sledge who nobody likes. Somebody made this post about him:

"a long time ago, sledges dad and mom were desperate for money, that the mom was sent out one evening to "sell herself".. She came home 6 hours later, with $300.25. Sledges father was very upset and asked her "who gave you the 25 cents????" She replied "everyone!!!"

Maybe he meant it seemed routine,like a line the late and great Rodney Dangerfield would deliver, but when you think about the heart of the joke it's actually very funny.

I believe the sequence you described is wrong. In such exchanges the money precedes the act. It avoids buyer's remorse.
