I guess Pettit should get my vote next. I went with KG last round, but after reading some of the Mikan/Pettit points in the last thread, I'll go with Pettit.

Karl Malone damn it.
Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are dumber than that.

K. Malone.

Pettit.

I was never impressed with Malone to be honest. For most of his career he seemed like an empty stats guy to me. He and Stockton really never did anything until Hornacek got there, even then they never won it all. Granted they faced some great competition, but I think for as highly rated as the Stockton-Malone duo is, they should have done more than lost twice in the Finals.

Nice to see Big George get some respect... now it's Scottie's turn. Go ahead and watch/read this clip, then tell me who deserves #16 all-time more than Pip 'cause I can't think of anyone:

"Today's NBA is soft, the Defense is weak, and the rules 'really' favor the Offense."

"Lebron doesn’t guard for a full game and our game plan was to get him to play defense and he left me open all game."

Totally agree with Stockton and Malone.
I remember sophomore year in high school when me and a buddy asked what happened to Jazz in 99? I mean that was their chance with the breakup of the bulls.

The Blazers had a pretty decent and deep team, came into Utah and stole game 2, then held serve at home. Lockout year too, only 50 games. The seedings were a bit whacky all around.

The Jazz were old at that point though anyway.

Yeah I didn't watch much of the NBA in 99 with the Bulls breaking up and the lockout and all. According to the old farts on PTI it was the greatest year in the history of the NBA. Like I said that was the Jazz chance.

Malone also got ripped for his lack of killer instinct despite putting up some great numbers in the playoffs. Pettit's killer instinct is underrated.
