They said 4 times the best defense has played the best offense in the super bowl. The defense has won 3 out of 4...looks like it's about to be 4 out of 5. I didn't hear which offense beat the best D.

It's because offenses are so much more tense playing out there than the defenses, and when you have a top rated defense, that imposes even more fear and the thought of "must be perfect" which leads to the kind of play we've seen so far in Manning. In these types of championship games, defense surely has the upper hand.
