Dunking and jumping isn't the only type of athleticism. Curry gets to the bucket with decent frequency. His handles are better than Westbrook's.

He gets to the rim because he’s a smart, crafty player. Plus defenders are terrified to give him space so when they front him it’s easier to beat them off the dribble. Handles aren’t based on athleticism… if that’s the case then this guy must be super athletic:




FWIW I have no issue with Jokic > Curry under this hypothetical. But there’s a very sizable gap in athleticism between Curry and Westbrook.

I said Curry's athleticism was to some level "removed" from Westbrook's in my OP. It may even be sizable, as you state.

It's still smaller than Jokic's gap with AD. By a lot. And besides, Curry havinng Westbrook-level athleticism simply wouldn't add much to Curry's game. Instead of being nearly impossible to guard, he'd just be a little more impossible to guard.

Rob is right. Curry with Westbrook’s doesn’t add much because Curry can already get to the rim due to his shooting gravity. And he’s a more efficient finisher at the rim than Westbrook. But it would be interesting to see Curry yamming on dudes.

Exactly... well said.

Meatball's like grizz look at the two players in completely different eras from a lens that does NOT factor in the style/rules of said eras.

I mean, imagine Dream playing to today's wide-open, spread-out Offense with zero Bigs protecting the paint and overall weak/soft Defense, instead of an era where the paint was clogged (making it much tougher to score from 10-feet in), the floor was less spread (making it tougher to Pass), and when Defenders were actually allowed to make contact with their man.

Deam would go down as the GOAT if he played in this era.
