I've never made beans from scratch.

What, you have to soak them and shit?
I tried years ago with white beans and could never get them tender. Since then I've just used canned beans and hooked them up with extra flavor. Always from a Goya or Iberia etc...brand.
My mom use to make the best black beans in the world from scratch. Usually every Xmas eve. Thick, tasty. Great. Not that runny shit youre probably use to.

TBH I’ve made them maybe once or twice too… my mother in law makes homemade mayocoba beans and they come out pretty bomb.
