I left a pan of chicken fajitas out over night by accident

Post by CleveTown™ »

I'm not one of those types who goes by the book of throwing out food that's been left out at room temperature for two hours....

But over night?

It was exactly 11 hours. in a warm house. Im thinking bacteria city now.

It's chicken/green peppers/onions and seasoning, but it's a whole damn pan, too. I'd hate to throw it out but im not trying to get food poisoning either.

WWYD?

If the weather’s nice and cool with the AC down to like 46 degrees you should be good

It’s Korea in summer - 800° with 100% humidity.

Sitting out overnight? Absolutely throw it out.

Similarly, I started a pork loin in my sous vide in the morning and left it out while I went to work. It’s vacuum sealed but it’s been out for like 9 hours, is it edible?

because it's vacuumed sealed, I might go ahead with it...but that's on the borderline. If you have a lot of pork loins in the freezer just pitch it.

Try it and report back in 24 hours.

If it was delicious then I would have risked it and ate it. If it makes you sick then you do some shitting and puking for a few days and drop a few lbs.

It's not best practices.

That actually might help ‘splain some things tbh, details I don’t need to get into.
