Yeah that’s a pretty bad take to not be able to root for schools you didn’t attend. Imagine being a Boston College Hoops fan as a 12 year old growing up in New England, but end up at MIT. Or in SoCal following a legendary program like USC Football from childhood but end up getting your degree from Azusa Pacific or Cal Poly Pomona.

I'd already been a PSU fan since I was a kid and that fandom continued when I went to college because the school I went to wasn't known for athletics at all. They aren't even D1.

Plus, since PSU basketball is essentially non-existent, I just bandwagonned the nearest decent CBB program in Villanova.

I'm a PSU fan and hitched my wagon to Nova as a side bitch.
