Gollum is such a dogshit character. They made a game based around him and it flopped giga hard.

Why are they continuing to try to make him a main character?

He won't be in it so much, this fan made movie will give you an idea of the story if they are faithful to Tolkien

Now I am thrown off. This isn't a sequel? It's between The Hobbit and Fellowship?

I thought these upcoming LOTR films were taking place after the Return of the King but apparently not.

There's another unannounced project that could be post-ROTK

OK that's probably what I was thinking of.

I am definitely not complaining at all that we have at least 2 LOTR projects.

How could there be a sequel about hunting Gollum when Gollum died at the end of ROTK?

We assumed Gandalf died, yes.

We watched Gollum die.

It's not that farfetched to you if they said Gollum was somehow alive?

It's a fantasy world with magic.

Surviving after falling into lava? Way too unrealistic...

they really destroyed the fuck out that franchise with the shitty Hobbit movies, the boring TV show and now this.

Even the original trilogy has aged like milk.

They're not bringing Gollum back to life, the story isn't post-ROTK, and the Hobbit movies were great and huge successes.

I am aware now. I was simply saying that hearing that Gollum would have been alive if this was a sequel to ROTK wouldn't have been that crazy to me, given it's a fantasy world.
