I wanna live in the past.
Can we go back to 1999. Loved my job made good money. Father was still alive, and the Stars won the Stanley cup.

Sorry to hear this, I would advise you to try to find more happiness and meaning in the present rather than dwell on the past. It's what your father would want.

Our last father son outing, a trip to the K. Twins swept the series I think, had tickets 8 rows back.
Went to the casino in KC won 3 grand. Went to the Negro Baseball Museum. That place was awesome.

late 80's/early 90's was GOAT civilization. I'd say 1988-1995

Definitely the GOAT period for the NBA... maybe I'd go mid 80's - mid 90's to make it a full decade.CleveTown™ wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2024 7:07 am late 80's/early 90's was GOAT civilization. I'd say 1988-1995
During this span the NBA saw unpredented, record-breaking growth and popularity here in the states AND globally as well. Not only that but you had 4 all-time GOAT level teams during that span (Celts, Lakers, Pistons and Bulls) AND you had many of the Top 5-15 players of all-time still going strong (Bird, Magic, Jabbar, Dream, etc), not to mention the GOAT himself (MJ).
Ratings exploded, Global popularity, the game was an exciting mix of high-octaine Offense and hard-nosed Defense, the league was full of intense (team/team and player/player) rivalries you just don't see today, GOAT / HOF level talent in abundance, GOAT- level Teams/Dynasties, etc.
It was never any better for the NBA.
But, I digress... back to the thread topic.
"Today's NBA is soft, the Defense is weak, and the rules 'really' favor the Offense."
"Lebron doesn’t guard for a full game and our game plan was to get him to play defense and he left me open all game."
