In NC (and maybe other places in the South?) we have "fish camps", and these kinds of fish restaurants are superior to chain joints like Red Lobster in every way - especially price.

Twin Tops in Gastonia is pretty dang good. There's also some place in Belmont I can't remember the name of but it has a similar simple name.

Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, it’s pretty hard to eat seafood and not judge it harshly.

I don’t really trust any seafood now that I live in such a landlocked state. Unless it’s locally farmed fish like trout, I don’t bother that often.

Red lobster started here but nobody eats there except for tourists..there's one in the tourist district ( only part of Orlando any of you have ever been to)
For seafood I usually hit up High Tide Harrys, or Winter Park Fish company or Sea Thai or any number of latin spots or jamaican or asian spots for whole fried/ broiled fish. Or the several lol southern catfish/gator/frogleg joints as well as the seafood boil spots all over the place. Or the fine dining seafood spots.
Or we make a nice short drive to the beach and there's abundant other fresh options.
JBs fish camp is in most central floridians DNA.
We don't recognize red lobster as an actual option down here.

I was at a loss when I was in omaha for 6 months. Seafood was one thing I just gave up on entirely before I started. I did have long John silver once.
Lol at landlocked states or people hours from a coast

A great oyster is amazing. Kumamoto FTW

I avoid Honolulu. It’s just a city like any other in the US, not my scene
