The same thing happened to Ryan Howard.
Sometimes a slugger just gets figured out and they can not adjust.

Wasn't that because he tore his ACL?

Yep. The final at bat in the Cardinals playoff series. The shift also really ruined him.kobeunderbite wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2024 12:26 pmPhutureDynasty wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2024 12:25 pm The same thing happened to Ryan Howard.

Pitchers also figured out how to avoid his power. I forget the exact pitch and location but he used to get fooled by the same one every time.

Ryan Howard winning MVP while finishing *9th* in WAR in the NL and 2nd *on his own team* is one of those things that our grandchildren will not be able to wrap their heads around.

Funny you ask this, I was recently thinking about him and I haven’t heard shit on him in years. I remember how hyped to the moon he was and checked in on him and saw after a brilliant 2021 he’s been pretty mid since. Not bad and still a decent hitter but not the world beater he was suppose to be.

Almost as crazy as Eli Manning winning 2 Superbowls and SBMVPs with those career stats.kobeunderbite wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2024 12:33 pmPhutureDynasty wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2024 12:28 pmYep. The final at bat in the Cardinals playoff series. The shift also really ruined him.
