Championship?
The first one your team does not have, or a second one. Such as the Stars winning the second. Or Philly winning the first in 40 years. The Mapleleafs winning the first in over 50 years. BTW fuck the Vikings.

Hard to say as a Celtics fan.
I would say the ones that were the most magical might have been 1969 (winning as a severe underdog against the Lakers trio), 1984 (Bird beats Magic!), and 2008 (back to winning). I'd probably say 1984 gun-to-head I guess.
For my favorite MMA fighter (Fedor), his most important win was either Big Nog 1 or Cro Cop, even though I believe his best performance was Big Nog 3 (the second full fight). For knowledgeable fans, Nog 1 was a more important win, but Cro Cop might have been the one with the most majesty, so to speak.

Well my favorite team is the 76ers but I wasn't alive in 1983 so I will do the Eagles who are a close second to the Sixers. The answer there is obviously our only Super Bowl and it's for a few reasons. In no order...
- We got revenge on the cheating Patriots and that rat quarterback Brady. Left that jabroni looking deflated on the sidelines like his footballs.
- We won our first Superbowl ever and did it with a backup QB.
- We took the best punch that Brady and crew could throw and matched them plus some. Look at Brady's numbers that game. Insane.
Best sports day of my life. I got teary-eyed that night out of happiness and relief and I am not ashamed to admit it.

For me, the Dallas Stars. I would give up both Twins WS victories for another cup or Super Bowl.

1998 was the most important Championship for the Bulls because it gave them a second 3-Peat "and" secured Jordan's legacy as the GOAT Winner (with apologies to Bill Russell, who was the best/most Valuable Celtic on only half of Boston's Championships AND who needed only 2 series wins for 8 of his 11 rings AND who struggled mightily to win half his Championships despite having two to three times as many HOF teammates as his opponents).

That was really special
Re: What is your favorite teams most important???????
Cubs - 2016, most emotional title ever, 3rd best day of my life.
Bulls - 98, last time I’ll ever see a Bulls championship. Solidified Jordan as forever GOAT.
Stone Cold - WM 14, 1998. Ushered in the greatest era of professional wrestling history.

I was on a flight back west when the pilot announced that final score and everyone cheered.

I can’t relate to this type of shit. Lakers vs Celtics elimination game and me knowing the type of fan I was back then of the Lakers, there’s just no way my schedule isn’t tailored around this. I can’t think of a more brutal way to consume a world title of this magnitude than hearing it from your pilot mid-flight on intercom. Can’t even take part in the riots, shit’ll be broken up by the time you land.

Look at the bums getting heavy minutes on that team. Kobe almost pulled off the impossible. Fking Radmanovic and Walton. If Bynum and Ariza were healthy it would have been a very different story.

Kinda like if Perkins were playing game 7? The C's don't get destroyed on the boards and Kobe only has 4 rings.kobeunderbite wrote: ↑Wed Apr 10, 2024 2:36 pm

Cardinals: 2006. First one I experienced.
Bulls 98: Last dance and bulls haven't been able to get back since.
Blues: 2019. Same with the 06 Cardinals.
Don't really have a favorite college team but loved 04 uconn and 04-06 Illinois.
Rams in 99 and Ravens in 2000 were my most favorable super bowls
