Greatest defender of his era. Multiple all-defensive teams. DPOY. Larry Bird nemesis.
Very good three point shooter, and underrated assist man.
5 rings, plus two more with the WNBA as coach, and a coach of the year award.
Finals MVP.

I’m obviously biased, but I think he merits.

Another hugely forgotten player, which is understandable given how incredibly stacked (with all-time great individual AND team talent) the NBA was at the time.

Coop was a GOAT caliber Defender with five (5) "legit" Championship Rings, a perennial 6th MOY contender, and Mr. Reliable (missing only 33 games in 11 years, with 21 of those games coming in one season).

Coop is a well deserved addition to the HOF, considering many of the players currently in... and incidently, he'll become the 57th HOFER to go head-to-head against Jordan in the GOAT Era of the NBA.

I always thought that if Cooper didn’t make it to the NBA he’d always have a career as one of them actors you see in those “feed the africans” infomercial drives from the 80s where a kid eats for a year if I donate like 9 bucks to their charity.

Upon further review, the Hall elected KC Jones as a player so it shouldn't be too much controversy about Coop getting in.
