I've seen exactly one MLB game live, Phillies @ Braves in ATL (right behind the Phillies dugout), and Jesus fuck I was bored out of my mind the entire time.

I can't even imagine the kind of person that enjoys going to or watching baseball on the regular.

I was in Chicago like 5 years ago and went to a Cubs game for fun. There was a dude sitting alone behind me with a full stats book and he was keeping track of the stats himself. I couldn’t figure it out. The internet is a thing what is the guy doing?

I'll confess to doing this as a 10-12 year old or so with high school varsity games. Pre-internet (at least for my home), but I did it.

I had once seen the official ("official") scorebook for one of the games I played and was kind of entranced by it...I guess it seemed big-time to me.

Ultimately, it's probably related to autism.
