I would bet he's the addict. It also explains his backloaded deal, he knows he can't control himself. Time for a lifetime ban.

What a mess...

This is not good for the league either when your biggest star may have a crippling gambling addiction.

So Ohtani knowingly "paid" his friends debts to "help him out", and then when he found out it was illegal, he was imbezzled?

Yea, the powers that be want this swept under the rug quickly...

I generally have an addictive personality, but I've never understood the allure of gambling. It just does nothing for me.

You never liked me, probably don't like me still, but a ***** liking me aint never paid my bills

I don't understand it either. There is a reason they build big casinos and spend fortunes developing online gaming books, and it isn't to give you money.

No. I literally can make the odds in my favor and with a thirty year track record on the buy side, and more years before that on the sell side, I have the numbers to prove it. At some point, it stops being random and the value add over what the market has provided is attributable to alpha.

I've always considered gambling to be a trade of money for psychic benefits like excitement. For poor people who play the lottery to win 7 to 9 figure money, a tradeoff of a few dollars for X number of minutes of hope/psychic relief that you are going to escape your shitty life.

If you are looking to + your money via casual gambling, you are an idiot. Best case scenario you get lucky early and leave the casino right away. Most likely scenario you get grinded down over a meaningful sample size of events to lose more than you win.

Most casino players I know, if they think they are on a hot steak they raise the bet. I lower mine.
