It could happen this summer for a variety of reasons (primarily financial). But if not the Warriors, who will chase and pay Thompson? Enter the Orlando Magic, reports Marc Stein in his post-All-Star Newsletter.

Orlando has been increasingly mentioned as a potential suitor for Klay Thompson in free agency. The Magic’s available cap space is difficult to project this far out. That figure could rise as high as $45 million but depends on their future plans with free agents-to-be Markelle Fultz and Gary Harris as well as Jonathan Isaac (whose $17.4 million salary next season is non-guaranteed).

I actually don't hate this signing, assuming the numbers and years aren't ridiculous.

A change of scenery could do Klay well. He could also teach them a thing or two about winning as he's a vet who won 4 titles.

He will never be the defender he once was but I could see his shooting percentages improving in Orlando too.

Lol...don't fall for dumb media. Magic are as tight lipped as it gets. If you see any rumor about the magic you can guarantee is totally NOT going to happen. Although he would be good off the bench if cheap

They are a smart front office. They would never pay tgat. Klay would be a second or third free agent signing

Klay strikes me as someone who would refuse to play for certain teams, even though the Magic have a better record than the Dubs right now. Like maybe the rings got into his head and he "deserves better."

Magic now are better than any Magic team with aaron gordon who would be the third option at best and who banchero has owned already
