Cannot see the Mets paying a 110% tax on top of 35+ million for Snell. It just wouldn't make any sense. The Mets are waiting for next winter when they will have three goals, to sign Soto, re-sign Alonso and sign one of Burnes/Bieber/Fried/etc.

Met fans shouldnt be too concerned...Not only do they have the deepest pockets in all of baseball, but they have the deepest farm system too...Grandpa Steve has just made brilliant move after brilliant move, and as we enter year 4 of the 5 year World Series plan, his vision is taking shape...
One little injury to some Jap pitcher isnt derailing this train...

It always amazes me how millennials like to use alphabet soup stats to try and mask their favorite teams mediocrity...

"...Look at the analytics!!! Canha is just as good as Acuna! Senga is better than Fried!!!..." Meanwhile, the "superior" Mets finished 29 games behind the Braves...

"...But, but, analytics you see..."

Dummy...

ERA is alphabet soup analytics now lol

Ironically advanced analytics are about the only thing that rated Strider not-mid last year (lol)

Yea, it wasnt like he lead all of Major league baseball in strikeouts and wins...Not bad for a 24 year old kid who isnt even in his prime yet...

Your hero deGrom couldnt even reach the majors until he was 26 years old, and the Mets were complete dogshit during that time too...

Wow, Boras messed up, Bellinger 3/80 with two opt-outs back to the Cubs. Fat L for Boras, that's honestly a great deal for Chicago. Yankees would have been much better off signing Bellinger to that and keeping King and the other guys they gave up for Soto.

Breakout player of the year. New swing being compared to Miggy Cabrera and prime Andrew Mccutcheon.

Well played by Chicago. Good for them. Fuck Borass.

Fair deal. Opt outs give him some incentive and upside.

Keep moving the goalposts all you want kiddo, but the Mets would give their entire farm system and then some to get Strider...

It's not like the Mets went for Bieber or Burnes who were both available and much better than Strider so that doesn't add up fatty, lol. And if Fried turns in a healthy season he will probably be a Met next winter anyway. He's auditioning.

Did Boras really do that badly? The only reason I don't mind it from his perspective and Bellinger's is the two opt outs. So if Bellinger stinks out the joint like he did for the two years prior to last year, he is still guaranteed $80 million, but if he has another great year, then it was a just a one year $30 million deal. Doesn't seem that bad.
