Of the players I saw:
Defensively I'm going with MJ or Pippen (full-court)... Offensively, yeah, has to be Magic. Maybe Kidd...

Magic, LeBron, Jordan, Wade, and Dominique come to mind for me.

Magic just always seemed to want to push the fast break.

Good nominations so far. I think of it in terms of passers vs. finishers vs. hybrids. Most likely, passers would dominate the list (I would add Nash to the current list).
In terms of finishing, grabbing a rebound and *going*, I'd offer Sir Charles. Some of his prime plays on this are just sick to watch. One of the most underrated athletes in NBA history IMO:

Barkley used to try to hurt people who took tried to take charges against him.Bush4Ever. wrote: ↑Fri Jul 07, 2023 1:00 pm Good nominations so far. I think of it in terms of passers vs. finishers vs. hybrids. Most likely, passers would dominate the list (I would add Nash to the current list).

So underrated that even a Sixers fan forgot about him but I agree.Bush4Ever. wrote: ↑Fri Jul 07, 2023 1:00 pm Good nominations so far. I think of it in terms of passers vs. finishers vs. hybrids. Most likely, passers would dominate the list (I would add Nash to the current list).

Young Barkley was an animal in open space.

For some reason I remember Showtime years Kareem igniting the break with one handed outlet passes to Magic. Red Auerbach also said Wes Unseld was the best outlet passer off the rebound he ever saw.

Was D-Wade that great in the fastbreak? Honestly, all I recall is his late years mid-range prowess.PhutureDynasty wrote: ↑Fri Jul 07, 2023 12:47 pm Magic, LeBron, Jordan, Wade, and Dominique come to mind for me.

Lonzgod is a great modern player.
Isiah is probably underrated, from the 80s.
White Chocolate from the late 90s and Bibby from the 00s.
Magic is the GOAT.

From my memory of his pre-LeBron years I remember him being so quick off the rebound. Adding LeBron to the mix only furthered my assumption of this but maybe I am wrong?gaskill15 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 07, 2023 2:57 pmWas D-Wade that great in the fastbreak? Unseld would probably be fine in today's small ball or position less era. He held his own against Kareem and Wilt in his era though.Havlicekstealsit wrote: ↑Fri Jul 07, 2023 2:44 pm For some reason I remember Showtime years Kareem igniting the break with one handed outlet passes to Magic. I always think of Drummond picking his pocket on back to back possessions.gaskill15 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 07, 2023 2:57 pmWas D-Wade that great in the fastbreak?
