What are the greatest military battles we know of?
Could be before or after the use of gunpowder. Any time period.
I'll also allow the term "greatest" to be up for your interpretation. You could view the greatness as what happened as a result of the battle or the battle itself was actually great; assuming that makes sense.

Desert Storm was America in its prime...We were like the Dream Team...No other country could have come within 40 points of us...LeBronMonsterDunk wrote: ↑Wed Aug 10, 2022 1:32 pm Desert Storm was a masterclass in modern warfare.

I believe you mentioned this before. Gulf War tank battle.rileymartin wrote: ↑Wed Aug 10, 2022 1:25 pm Battle of Norfolk...Probably the largest tank battle in American history...We dominated...
I admittedly know little of that conflict. Seems like we dominated that war as a whole as well.

Thermopylae
Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are dumber than that.

Hitler’s decision to turn on the Soviets is easily the biggest brain fart in military history. What a dumbass.PhutureDynasty wrote: ↑Wed Aug 10, 2022 1:30 pmProbably the most internationally known battle of WW2. Normandy is probably more known amongst Americans.
Impressive victory for the Soviets.
We’d be living in Atti and ripper’s dream world right now if not for his fuck up.

Hitler's hatred of communism was too big for him to see the mistake that was attacking both the Western and Eastern fronts of Europe.gaskill15 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 10, 2022 2:15 pmHitler’s decision to turn on the Soviets is easily the biggest brain fart in military history. Love the use of slo-mo here...
I am no expert in military battle history but Thermopylae would have my vote as well. Assuming 300 strong took on thousands and even remotely held their ground is insane.

Never would have happened without the women soldiers...but certain posters are too dumb to realize women can be massive factors on the battle field and especially as snipersPhutureDynasty wrote: ↑Wed Aug 10, 2022 1:30 pmProbably the most internationally known battle of WW2. It didnt go down quite the way the movie portrays...Strategy was the biggest ally of the Spartans...The Spartans defended a very narrow pass, and they held up well for a few days until they were flanked...Then it ended pretty quickly...PhutureDynasty wrote: ↑Wed Aug 10, 2022 3:07 pmLove the use of slo-mo here...

Also, the story of 300 was amazing, but there were actually several thousand fighting alongside them from other "tribes"

Yea I know it didn't go as the movie portrayed. It has an element of non-realism with the "immortals" and beasts shown.rileymartin wrote: ↑Wed Aug 10, 2022 3:14 pmIt didnt go down quite the way the movie portrays...Strategy was the biggest ally of the Spartans...The Spartans defended a very narrow pass, and they held up well for a few days until they were flanked...Then it ended pretty quickly...PhutureDynasty wrote: ↑Wed Aug 10, 2022 3:07 pmLove the use of slo-mo here...

Are you sure you saw 300? That's exactly how it was portrayed in the movie.rileymartin wrote: ↑Wed Aug 10, 2022 3:14 pmIt didnt go down quite the way the movie portrays...Strategy was the biggest ally of the Spartans...The Spartans defended a very narrow pass, and they held up well for a few days until they were flanked...Then it ended pretty quickly...PhutureDynasty wrote: ↑Wed Aug 10, 2022 3:07 pmLove the use of slo-mo here...
