Rank the Spiderman movies

Post by Kingcarl24 »

Apparently this is trending on Twitter right now. Here's my crack at it...

Spiderman 2 - It's in my top echelon of comic book movies.
Into the Spiderverse
Homecoming - Love the twist. I wish there was less Iron Man though.
Spiderman - This movie has not aged well at all but I feel like I have to put it here because it kind of really kick started the comic book movie being a big thing
Far from Home
Amazing Spiderman - I think Garfield doesn't get enough credit for being a pretty good Spiderman
Spiderman 3
Amazing Spiderman 2

I would just throw them all into a hat and pull a movie out. That is how I would rate them. And just to be honest, I only saw the first two. Have a good afternoon. :suds:

I just dug the tie ins to the MCU more TBH. I wasn’t in love with the Raimi films and just added it to my list for the nostalgia factor.

The Raimi trilogy has soul, I'm pretty excited that he's directing Dr. Strange 2.

I enjoyed it a LOT first time out in the theater but it has zero rewatchability to me. And I've said this in the past I think but it being an animated movie just makes it feel 'low stakes' to me, I don't know how else to describe it. And for what it's worth at this point I am more fond of Spider-Man 3 than most so it's not a huge insult to be down there.

No. I was really surprised. I think most will have it at the top or just below. To see it down so low on your list was really surprising.

I liked Far From Home but for whatever reason, it's kind of forgettable. There were some really odd decisions made by Tony Stark in that movie that made me chuckle.

1. Spiderverse
2. Homecoming
3. FFH
4. Spider Man 2
5. Spider Man
6. The Amazing Spider Man
7. The Amazing Spider Man 2
8. Spider Man 3

If I could throw the animated 90s series in there, it'd be number 1.

I'm the biggest Spiderman fan there is but those Tobey Maguire movies did not age well.

I can guarantee you the Holland movies will age worse. Raimi's movies have heart and timeless themes embedded in them (I don't think that's the nostalgia talking) and the suit and aesthetic are IMO very on point. In the MCU, Holland always being animated in the suit and some of the effects are already IMO not great to look at and there is a lot of zoomer humor that lands now that probably won't in as few as 5-10 years.

For me Homecoming is probably more forgettable in a way because I think there's just too much reliance on Tony Stark going on. I think the humor lands better in Far From Home, especially with the teachers, than the Iron Man stuff. Although honestly the Kree twist does nothing for me. The movies are pretty similar I guess. I could probably talk myself into either one.

It's crazy outside of the "twist" I find homecoming the more forgettable of the two Tom Holland movies. Maybe it was the villain, which can sometimes play a role into me liking the film and in this case not even Keaton could make me enjoy Vulture.

I thought the Vulture was a MUCH better villain than Mysterio. Trying to tell us that Mysterio was the good guy from another universe for half the movie was just dumb. The audience for the most part know who Mysterio is and that he's a classic Spiderman villain. All that ruse felt like wasted time.

In my opinion, Spiderman has to be big if the MCU wants to continue. He has the best villains and some of the best stories. I just really don't see the MCU surviving on the backs of Dr. Strange and the Guardians.

I think they were both pretty good. One thing that bothers me now is how in FFH when they're talking about heroes like Captain Marvel and Doctor Strange they ignore Wakanda and Black Panther lol. Obviously in these movies there's always the question of why don't other heroes help but it was still funny. That main Mysterio sequence was awesome, one of the best scenes in the MCU imo although I get what you're saying about the wasted time.

That's what kind of makes me nervous about the future MCU lineup. With this 6-12 month delay it's going to be like 3 years before we get a true meat and potatoes MCU movie because Shang-Chi and Black Widow are just filler to me. I really don't want to wait that long.
