Vicki Weaver was shot in the head and killed by FBI agent Lon Horiuchi while standing in the doorway of her home, holding her 10 month old daughter. Federal agents had killed her 14 year old son by shooting him in the back the day before.

He was acquitted of that and every other charge and was only convicted of failure to appear. The federal government was forced to pay him and his remaining children millions.

The ATF wanted Weaver to act as an informant and join the Aryan Nation. When he told them to fuck off they tried to use the trumped up charges about illegally selling a shotgun as leverage. There was also a neighbor involved in a land dispute with Weaver who “red flagged” him by telling the Secret Service that Weaver was making threats against the Pope and the President, among others. All of which was false.

The US Marshal was killed after they showed up on his land and shot his dog and his son.

The Weavers great crime was moving to the middle of nowhere and wanting to be left alone. Everything else was made up nonsense that was proven false.

"Meanwhile, in early February, the court learned that the Weaver trial, which had been scheduled for February 19, would have to be changed to give the participants sufficient travel time following a federal holiday on the preceding Monday. On February 5, the court clerk sent a notice to the parties informing them that the trial was rescheduled for February 20, 1991. Although this notice was not sent directly to Weaver, a copy was sent to and received by Hofmeister. Two days later, on February 7, 1991, probation officer Richins sent a letter to Weaver at his Naples address. Richins wrote:

On January 18, 1991, you were released on Pretrial Supervision pending your trial set for March 20, 1991. You contacted our office and I advised you we would be getting back with you as soon as we received the paper work from Magistrate Ayers. I have long ago received the paperwork but have been unable to locate a telephone number where 1 could contact you. Accordingly, with this letter, I are [sic] requesting you to contact me at 334-1630 as soon as possible. You may call collect if you choose."




So he was told conflicting dates for his trial, and was last told it was set for March 20th, though it had been originally been scheduled for February 19th, then rescheduled for February 20th.

I agree. His wife, son, and dog should have been killed for that.
