That touches upon one of my rants around here... cats like me take it in the shorts from both sides because we're too busy working and taking lil Amber to piano recital and trying to hang with friends and working some more and watching a movie with the gal on Netflix and working some more and having block parties and taking lil Timmy to soccer practice and working some more and trying this new baked ziti recipe and taking lil Sandy to swim class and working some more and having a cocktail with the neighbor in the driveway after coming home from work... to really lead any sort of revolution.

So, we just keep taking it in the shorts.

Affluence? Or, moderate stability... teetering on the edge of abject poverty?

Middle income guys, even "upper" middle income guys are infinitely closer to being poor than being wealthy. For example, they could complain about paying $20k for health coverage this year... but the guy paying $0 for his coverage while making only $40k less than him doesn't want to hear that. Meanwhile, that guy with the free coverage also qualifies for free lunch programs, free youth sports and numerous other things.

Why? Because the middle income guy is "rich" and stuff.
